Senterets målsetting er å lindre lidelser og rehabilitere enkeltindivider sosialt og helsemessig. Kunstutvalget la vekt på å finne frem til verk som kunne reflektere behovet for mening og skjønnhet, og vektlegge optimisme og håp. Etter lukket konkurranse ble det gitt oppdrag til Dag Birkeland og Randi Hartmann. Dag Birkeland har laget en utendørs installasjon med basseng, bro og fire bronsebøtter som fylles og tømmes gjennom mekaniske bevegelser. Randi Hartmann har laget et vevet arbeid i fire deler til foajeen.

The objective of the institution is to alleviate pain and to rehabilitate people socially and medically. The arts committee was looking to find artworks that reflect the need for meaning and beauty, with an emphasis on optimism and hope. Following a closed competition, the commission was given to Dag Birkeland and Randi Hartmann. Dag Birkeland created an outdoors installation with a pool, bridge and four brass buckets that are continually filled and emptied through mechanical motion. Randi Hartmann created a woven fiber piece in four parts for the lobby.
