TANN-bygget i Tromsø er et nytt felles bygg for tannlege-/tannpleieutdanning og tannhelsetjenestens regionale kompetansesenter. Bygget rommer ulike funksjoner som pasientbehandling, klinisk forskning og undervisning. Kunstutvalget ønsket kunst med et kontemplativt preg. Arnold Johansens digitalt bearbeidete fotografi av havflaten er overført til glass med keramisk silketrykk og dekker hele byggets fasade. Et triptyk av Sven Påhlsson i form av tre animerte videoprojeksjoner på veggen i byggets atrium tar også utgangspunkt i vann, men har et mer dynamisk pulserende uttrykk. Også Eirik Gjedrems objekter i keramikk har et organisk formspråk. I tillegg er det kjøpt inn et tekstilt arbeid av Inger Anne Nyaas.

The Dental Building in Tromsø is a new shared facility serving the school of dentistry and dental care and the regional competency center for dental health services. The building serves various functions, such as patient treatment, clinical research and student instruction. The art committee sought artworks of a contemplative nature. Arnold Johansson’s digitally manipulated photograph of the ocean surface, transferred onto glass through ceramic silk-screening, covers the entire surface of the building. A triptych by Sven Påhlsson in the form of three video animations projected on the wall of the building’s atrium are also based on the theme of water, but these pulsating images have a more dynamic effect. Eirik Gjedrem’s ceramic objects are likewise inspired by organic forms. A fiber piece by Inger Anne Nyaas has also been acquired for installation.
