Barnevernsinstitusjonen er eit anlegg som representerer ein kombinasjon av gammalt og nytt; eldre bygg med moderne einingar, ein gammal frukthage og eit oppgradert hageanlegg. Arkitektane har på ein vellykka måte markert eit tydeleg tidsskilje. Kunstnaren vart derfor bedd om å integrere eit kunstverk som skulle kommunisere med brukarane på ein positiv måte, og samtidig vise respekt for omgivnadene. Resultatet er ein skulptur av Christian Sunde - ei stilisert hovudform - plassert på ei frittståande søyle i senter av eit gammalt fontenebasseng, midt i den gamle, skrånande eplehagen. Hovudet er svakt belyst frå undersida og gløder svakt i mørket. Skulpturen har eit framoverretta uttrykk, der hovudet speidar ut i landskapet.

Run by the Child Protection Agency, the facility is a combination of the old and the new: a building from the past with modern units, an old fruit orchard alongside contemporary gardens. The architects have successfully established a distinct temporal dividing line. The artist was therefore commissioned to create an integrated artwork that would communicate with the center's users in a positive way, while also being respectful of its surroundings. The result is a sculpture by Christian Sunde: a stylized head placed on a free-standing column in the center of an old fountain pool located in the middle of the sloping old orchard. The head is dimly illuminated from below, faintly glowing in the dark. Gazing intently at the landscape, the sculpture appears to be looking into the future.
