Med vegginstallasjonen sin i messebygget har Christian Sunde ønskt å gi si eiga tolking av kva Forsvaret er, og å beskrive unge menneske i møte med soldattilværet. Dette har han gjort ved å støype inn ulike gjenstandar eller bilete i 62 enkeltblokker som er utførte i polyester. Desse har fått titlar som 16 stk. jagerfly, Hårsaks, eller Piggtrådbefal. Kvar av blokkene måler 20 x 20 cm og er skrudde fast i veggen. Blokkene er lyssette med lysdiodar i ulike fargar. I mørket skaper installasjonen eit levande spel i fargar, i ei presis form. Ein ser han også godt utanfrå. Reinhard Haverkamps skulptur tilknytt mannskapsforlegningane er med på å avgrense leirområdet mot sør. Plassert på ein skrånande grasvoll dannar skulpturen ein visuell kontrast til det elles stramme uttrykket i området. Det konstruktive uttrykket til den 3,2 meter høge skulpturen med sju v-forma element i rustfritt stål dannar eit markant teikn i forhold til heile plassen, samtidig som han utstrålar lettheit og dynamikk.

The intention behind Christian Sunde's wall installation in military mess hall was to offer a personal interpretation of what the Army is and to describe a young person's first encounter with the soldier's life. This he achieved by encasing various objects or images in 62 individual blocks cast in polyester. These are given titles such as 16 stk. Jagerfly [16 fighter planes], Hårsaks [hair shares] and Piggtrådbefal [barbed-wire officers]. Each block measures approximately 8" x 8" and is bolted to the wall. The blocks are illuminated by light diodes in various colors. In the dark, the installation produces a vibrant interplay of colors in a precise form. It is also quite visible from outside the camp. Reinhard Haverkamp's sculpture linked to the troop barracks marks the southern boundary of the camp site. Placed on a grassy slope, the sculpture constitutes a visual contrast to the otherwise austere camp design. With 7 chevron-shaped elements in stainless steel, the more than 10 foot-tall sculpture's constructive style makes a pron ounced statement in relation to the entire camp square, while also projecting lightness and dynamism.
