En eldre hovedbygning fra 1895 knyttes til et nybygg med to identiske trappeoppganger i fire etasjer. Trappeoppgangene, som utgjør byggets hovedtrafikkåre, er i utgangspunktet utført i harde, kalde farger og materialer. Rommet har høy støyfaktor og trappen utgjør en høyderisiko for barn. Intensjonen med kunsten har vært å tilføre rommet kvaliteter som åpner for barns fantasi og assosiasjoner og som samtidig øker sikkerhet og trivsel. Med et enkelt, arkitektonisk formspråk, et poetisk uttrykk og en konseptuel tilnærming, omskapes rekkverket i begge trappeoppgangene med fargesterke motiver blant annet hentet fra fotballmiljøet rundt Vålerenga. Kunstneren bruker abstraksjoner av emballasje som motiv. Kunstneren har også designet 6 lysarmaturer med samme motiver og materialer som rekkverket.

Two identical four-story stairways link the older main building from 1895 to a new extension. The stairways, which constitute the building's main thoroughfare, are principally executed in hard, cool colors and materials. This area has a high noise factor, and the stairs represent a height risk for children. The intention behind the artworks was to introduce elements that stimulate kids' imaginations and associations, while also promoting a sense of safety and well-being. Using a simple, architectural visual language, a lyrical style and a conceptual approach, the artist transforms the banisters of both stairways with boldly-colored motifs, among them references to the Vålerenga soccer community. Abstractions based on various package materials are included in the imagery. The artist has also designed six light fittings with the same motifs and materials as the banisters.
