I Sentralarresten var det et ønske fra politiet at kunsten skulle ha et rolig og avbalansert uttrykk. Samtidig skulle den være et blikkfang og ta hensyn til at det kommer folk fra mange ulike kulturer. Det ble gitt oppdrag til tre kunstnere: I en installasjon som består av ett veggmaleri og tre dataprint på aluminiumsplate har Tiril Schröder tatt utgangspunkt i landskaper og organiske former. Josephine Lyches veggmalerier er holdt i klare, rolige farger og er utført i en spesiell teknikk hvor veggen påføres sparkel i mange lag som så slipes og lakkes slik at det dannes abstrakte mønstre. I to fotocollager som er trykket på glassklar akryl har Jenny Alnæs satt sammen bilder fra bydel gamle Oslo med bilder fra byer rundt om i verden, middelalderskulpturer og bunadsbroderier. Tre malerier av Marius Martinussen er i tillegg kjøpt inn i 2008, og det er planlagt flere innkjøp.

For the Central Prison Facility in Oslo, the police department wanted artworks of a calm and balanced nature that would also serve as eye-catchers. Moreover, the works had to be sensitive to the cultural differences of the many people using the facility. Three artists were given commissions: In her installation consisting of a mural and three digital prints on aluminum, Tiril Schröder worked with landscapes and organic shapes. Josephine Lyches’ murals feature clear, calm colors and are executed in a special technique whereby several layers of spackle are applied to the wall and then sanded down and lacquered, allowing abstract patterns to emerge. In her two photo collages printed on clear plexiglass, Jenny Alnæs combined images from The Old Town area of Oslo with photos from cities around the world, medieval sculptures, and embroideries from Norwegian national costumes. In addition, three paintings by Marius Martinussen were acquired in 2008, and additional purchases have been planned.
