Marianne Heier har innledningsvis i sitt kunstprosjekt inngått som ”ulønnet” ansatt i kontorstaben for en to måneders arbeidsperiode. Hennes stedsspesifikke verk har, som i mange av hennes tidligere prosjekter, form av en gave: Denne gang en norsk trehytte midt i kontorlandskapet til avløsning for det tidligere pauserommet. Her kan ansatte fremover ha sine lunsj- og kaffepauser og holde møter. Heiers kunstpraksis ligger tett opp til relasjonell estetikk. Hun går inn i offentlige institusjoner i og utenfor kunstscenen, og tilvirker endringer i stedets arkitektoniske og fysiske strukturer i dialog med de som arbeider der. Målet er å gi nye opplevelser av det tilvante og bidra funksjonelt og estetisk til stedet.

In the initial phase of her art project, Marianne Heier joined the office staff as an ’uncompensated’ employee for a period of two months. Like many of Heier’s previous projects, her site-specific work Waldgänger takes on the form of a gift. This time, a Norwegian log cabin right in the middle of the open-plan office replaced the old lunch room. In the future, the staff can have their meals, coffee breaks and meetings there. Heier’s artistic practice is closely linked to relational aesthetics. She enters public institutions both inside and outside of the art world and effects changes to the sites’ architectural and physical structures in dialogue with those who work there. The objective is to bring about new perceptions of familiar surroundings and to offer a functional and aesthetic contribution to the relevant institutions.
