Competitions

Competitions are an important means of ensuring diversity and innovation, and of giving younger and less established artists an opportunity to obtain commissions. It is also an increasingly common practice to conduct open calls for submissions. This is a form of pre-qualification where artists are invited to submit presentations of their work along with an explanation of why this art project is of particular interest. Based on these presentations, artists will be selected for a closed competition.

Open calls for competitions and presentations are announced in art journals and here on KORO’s website.
