In spring 2006 the 180.000 residents of Stavanger and Sandnes were invited to cast their votes to select the urban site that meant most to them personally. The poll lasted for three months. In all, 27.000 votes were registered. This process resulted in the selection of the following places.: Café Sting (Stavanger), Norwegian Petroleum Museum (Stavanger) Stavanger Cathedral, Stavanger University Hospital, Sølvberget Cultural Centre (Stavanger), Kvadrat Shopping Centre (Sandnes), Ruten/Sandnes Bus Terminal and Sandnes City Hall Theatre.

In the project Neighbourhood Secrets eight international artists were invited to participate in a dialogue with Stavanger and Sandnes over a 20-month period of time, up until the opening in May 2008. The book documents this project, but it also contains a selection of essays reflecting on process-oriented art forms in general.

The Building for Basic Biological Research (BBB) at the University of Bergen

The Building for Basic Biological Research (BBB) at the University of Bergen was completed in 2003. This book presents the public art projects commissioned for the new building by one of KORO’s  arts committees active during 1999-2006.

The projects consist of three architecturally integrated works: two gardens by the Japanese landscape architect and Zen-priest Shunmyo Masuno, a sound installation located in the monumental stairwell by English-Norwegian composer Natasha Barrett and a large, coloured glass window facade by the Norwegian painter Arne Malmedal.

John Coplans (1920-2003), Tom Sandberg and Vibeke Tandberg, which deal in different ways with the human body, are to be found in the central communication area of the building. This book also presents works situated in three meeting rooms by Bergen artists Therese Christensen and Kari Dyrdal, as well as a mural project by The German artist Katharina Grosse, which for different reasons never came to be installed.

Art in Place presents the works of art that the University of Tromsø has aquired for Teorifagbygget. The book provides an introduction to the collection and is also meant to function as a guide and orientation instrument. A drawing at the beginning of the book gives a bird’s-eye view of the seven buildings that together make up the so-called Teorifagbygget.

The book’s first section consists of a series of richly illustrated articles about the artworks and the artists that are presented there. The second section of the book – the catalogue, presents all of the 26 artists in the collection and the nearly 200 aquired works.

The memorial for the victims of the tsunami catastrophe of 26 Desember 2004 was initiated by the Norwegian government. The memorial is ment to be a dignified place for reflection and contemplation for all people affected by catastrophes. John Audun Hauges sculpture Interferens is located on the western shore of Bygdøy in Oslo, and was officially unveiled by HM King Harald V on 19 Oktober 2007.

The book Minnested (Memorial) is an element and an extension of the memorial. It was designed especially with those people in mind who are unable to visit he site. The intension is that the book should provide the same basis for reflection and contemplationas a physical visit to the memorial on Bygdøy.

A series of photographs taken by Jørn Bøhmer Olsen, showing the memorial through the four sesons, is the main focus in the book. The book also includes a short story by Frøydis Alvær and an article by Øivind Storm Bjerke  on John Audun Hauges sculpture Interferens. The foreword is written by Ellen Carlén Idebøen from the National Support Group After the Tsunami Catastrophe. John Audun Hauge´s photographs documents the making of the sculpture and a short text with facts about the process behind the realisation of the memorial is also included.
