INVITATION: OPEN COMPETITION FOR PROJECT IDEAS FOR THE STAVANGER REGION’S NEW CONCERT HALL

You are hereby invited to take part in an open competition for art projects to be situated next to the New Concert Hall and its parking garage that are currently under construction in Stavanger. The concert hall will be located in a unique green area, near other art and cultural institutions, that is within walking distance of the centre of Stavanger.

Proposals should take into account the identity of the area. The different art projects should be both a part of the overall experience and at the same time independent and contextual.

The Art Committee has an open mind about questions of location, scope and design for the art projects. It is up to participants to decide whether they want to work with ideas that affect the entire area or with something that is more specific to one or more smaller locations.

We especially encourage collaborative projects, interdisciplinary groups of artists, and young artists who are still in the process of establishing themselves to submit proposals to this open competition.

The deadline for receiving proposals is 20 August 2009.
