11 artist / artist groups invited for closed competitions

In June 2008 the art committee and KORO invited artists to participate in an international prequalifying competition for the art projects The Concrete floor and T he Upper foyer. 11 artist / artist groups are now chosen to participate in closed competitions.

This spring the following artists are participating in a limited competition for The Concrete floor:
Brian Tolle, Xavier Veilhan, Tommi Grönlund/Petteri Nisunen, Beret Aksnes/Vegar Moen, Merete Christensen/Anne Bårdsgård, Sofie Berntsen.

For the Upper Foyer the following artists will participate in a limited competition in the autumn 2009. Katharina Grosse, Katarina Löfström, Vong Phaophanit/Claire Obussier, Felice Varini, Josefine Lyche.

The prequalifying round was announced internationally, and 132 artists applied for The Upper Foyer while 65 artists applied for The Concrete floor. In a parallell competition for project ideas for the access areas to Kilden, three proposals was awarded and are currently being developed; The Dancer by Reinhard Haverkamp, Everyday Stars by Synne Bull/Dragan Miletic, and Javel by Finn Eirik Modahl and Arne Revheim.
